Description
King coconut water has been used in Ayurveda (herbal medicine). One of the most common uses is a mixture of Aralu powder (Myrobalans) added to the water of a king coconut. The King Coconuts, locally called ‘Thambili’ are a bright-orange colored variety of coconuts that are indigenous to Sri Lanka. These are extensively found throughout the country, especially on the beaches and roadside kiosks which are in plenty during the dry, hot summer months. King coconut water is a much sweeter and nutty taste than coconut water and provides about 2.4 mg or 4% of RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance), which is a water-soluble antioxidant. One of the biggest benefits of King Coconut Water is that it prevents muscle cramps. It is also useful in treating diarrhoea and cholera and other gastrointestinal diseases.
