Do you know, it is even rich in calcium. These are also known as four-angled beans. In Sri Lanka, we even consume the leaves of this plant. Its origin is most likely New Guinea.

The plant is a climber in the Fabaceae family and is closely related to the pole beans. Its scientific name is Psophocarpus tetragonolobus ascribing to its fleshy four-angled fruit pod. Winged beans are one of the versatile edible legumes of tropical origin.
